HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES SUBCOMMITTEE

This subcommittee of the Delaware Hispanic Commission provides recommendations to end health-care disparities affecting Latino communities, including access to care, health education, screenings and outreach, funding and insurance, behavioral health, substance abuse and child sexual abuse. The subcommittee also examines secondary factors in health care, including language and culture.

  4. Encourage cooperation between health care systems and community programs to set up coordinated health care in all three counties
  5. Strengthen behavioral health services for anxiety, addiction and depression while lessening the stigma of seeking help
  6. Compile a list of Hispanic Delawareans willing to serve on state and nonprofit boards

Este subcomité de la Comisión Hispana de Delaware brinda recomendaciones para terminar con las disparidades relativas a la atención médica que afectan a las comunidades latinas, incluido el acceso a la atención, educación sobre salud, exámenes de detección y difusión, financiamiento y seguros, salud conductual, abuso de sustancias y abuso sexual de menores.   4. Alentar la cooperación entre los sistemas de atención médica y los programas comunitarios para crear servicios de atención médica coordinados en los tres condados
  5. Fortalecer los servicios de salud conductual para tratar problemas de ansiedad, adicción y depresión, y minimizar el estigma de buscar ayuda
